The proposed project focuses on the CB challenge of the limited sized market for green technology, cleantech and health benefitting services and products and on the other hand the limited scope product/service offerings often provided at by the CB area SME’s by joining their forces and boosting exports to Japanese market. The main objective is to obtain real sales/co-operation agreements for CB SME’s in Japan.

Japan is the 3rd largest economy in the world and it is highly developed in e.g. manufacturing technology. However, the green technology and cleantech in Japan is not as widely spread and applied as in the CB region. Therefore there is a significant potential for the CB SME’s to be reached. The project aims to obtain 7 real deals for the CB SME’s as the main result. By joining the Finnish and Estonian SMEs and green clusters Green Net Finland and Tehnopol we can obtain the required strength and act as a pioneer for the CB region more widely, for extending the CB exports to Japan for future.

In addition, the project will increase the competence and skills of the CB SMEs by coaching and awareness raising, increases the presence and publicity of the CB SME’s products and services in the Japanese market, creates added value by joining CB SME’s together to form more competitive miniclusters which are more attractive in Japanese market and shares success stories and information about the Japan-focused export activities in the CB area.

Original for the project is the timing and opportunity utilisation. CB and certain other areas of the EU are currently ahead of Japan in green technology innovation and circular economy. We also have a good reputation in Japan for our advanced green sector. We can now utilize the opportunity to obtain a presence in the Japanese market, which has recently started to make the green turn but is still behind CB region in its implementation.
